Dammkar Ski Run: the longest ski run in Germany

The first run of the day is usually the best! If you get up early enough to take the first cable car, you can enjoy the first run down seven kilometers (4.3 miles) of deep powder. Skiers who love powder and skiing off-slope will love the Dammkar in the Karwendel range of the Bavarian Alps.

Seven km (4.3 mi.) long, 1,300 m (4,265 ft.) altitude difference and up to 40% incline! Wide slopes of powder snow past imposing cliffs - another awesome day of skiing in the Zugspitze Region in the Bavarian Alps. Discover your personal favorite ski destination in Alpenwelt Karwendel.

Ski run for expert skiers and adrenaline junkies

Your ski adventure begins at the top station of the Karwendelbahn cable car in Mittenwald at 2,244 m (7874 ft.) above sea level. A special tunnel for skiers takes you to Germany's longest ski run. Ready, steady, go: down steep slopes with up to 40% incline, past craggy cliffs, a mountain patrol cabin and the Dammkar lodge, until you finally shoot through the Cannon Barrel (Kanonenrohr) and reach the station at the bottom. Sound dangerous? Well, it isn't - if you're an experienced skier and know how to ski in varying snow conditions and terrain. The Avalanche Commission only allows the run to open if the conditions are safe. Ski fans and adrenaline junkies can get the latest updates on the website of Karwendelbahn at www.karwendelbahn.de.
