A winter vacation in the Zugspitze region has much to offer: The Zugspitze region is one of the most beautiful and finest winter sports regions in Germany. From your vacation home in the Zugspitze region, you are within a stone's throw of a magical winter wonderland.
Sledding day and night
A high speed sled ride is a must-do during a winter vacation in southern Bavaria. There is a wide array of fantastic opportunities available in this resort region. If you enjoy skiing down the slopes during the day in the winter sun, you'll really get a kick out of riding a sled down to the valley in the moonlight. Monday to Friday, the Hausbergbahn cable car will take you to the starting point for an evening of sledding between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Guided by the floodlights you'll head down the mountain for 3.9 km (2.4 mi.).
Sledding down from the Partnachalm lodge like a world champion
Whiz down the tracks of the horn sled drivers. From the Partnachalm, a floodlit sled run descends all the way to the Olympic ski stadium. The Bavarian Horn Sled Championships always take place on this course on January 6, the Twelfth Day of Christmas.
A tip for thrill-seekers
The 1.6 km (1 mi.) long sled run starting at the St. Martins-Hütte lodge on the Grasberg mountain is a fantastic experience, especially for those who love speed. The ascent is on foot - you will be rewarded with an exciting fast ride down to the valley. For this run, we recommend a helmet and ski goggles in addition to gloves and sturdy footwear.
Make the Zugspitze region your destination for lightning fast sled rides and enjoy the winter in southern Bavaria day and night.
