The Alpenwelt Karwendel e-bike tour will lead you through the three charming towns of the Alpenwelt Karwendel region: Mittenwald, Krün, and Wallgau. The beautiful mountain scenery and gently rolling alpine meadows accompany the e-biker along the 23 kilometer (14.38 mi.) long tour.
Pack a picnic!
The Alpenwelt Karwendel e-bike tour starts at the "Im Schwarzenfeld" parking lot. From there, follow the Isar River bike path to the "Isarhorn" on the B2 road. Here, take a sharp right and head slightly uphill toward Krün and then, at Seinsalm, follow the gravel path straight toward Krün. If you feel like a picnic, watch for a green gate on the left. You can park your bike here and walk about ten minutes to the Isarstausee reservoir. The wide gravel banks of the aquamarine mountain stream provide a perfect box seat for a long break and a grand picnic.
Then, invigorated and refreshed, you'll get back on your bikes again: You will pass the Isar bridge before Krün, then take a left and head slightly downhill to Wallgau. Where the path meets the Isar river bank, cross the Isarsteg bridge and head left again after the parking lot. Shortly after, turn right at the golf course loop trail (Golfplatzrundweg). On the way back, you will follow the "Richtung Mittenwald über Buckelwiesen" (toward Mittenwald past the rolling meadows) signs.
