A lake where the water temperature reaches balmy 22-26°C (72-79°F) in the summer. Secluded coves. Seven picturesque islands. Rare flora and fauna. The Staffelsee lake invites you to a hike along its shores.
Always with a view of the picturesque backdrop of the Bavarian Foothills, the ever-changing Staffelsee Lake Loop often follows the shoreline through a unique nature preserve. Hikers and cyclists will discover small villages, charming public swimming areas and traditional restaurants along the almost 21.5 kilometer (14 mi.) loop.
Hiking, swimming, enjoying a picnic
Neither adults nor kids will be bored during a vacation in the Blue Land. Here you can take a break for a rustic meal, stop to observe animals, and in between, jump into the lake, one of the warmest in Upper Bavaria. You can also catch a boat at the Alpenblick restaurant & beer garden after 13 km (8 mi.) to return comfortably to the departure point if you do not want to hike the entire 22 km (14 mi.). In any case, you should stop to quench your thirst in the beer garden directly on the shore, a venue known nationally for its awesome location.
