A lightning fast toboggan ride will make your winter vacation in the Zugspitze region truly unforgettable. The extra-long sled run on the Hörnle is lots of fun and adventure for both young and old.

    Sledding on the Hörnle

You can reach the toboggan run on foot or by taking the Hörnle cable car. If you prefer to walk, you can expect to take about one and a half hours on the winter trail leading uphill through the snow-covered alpine landscape. When you reach the top you will be rewarded by a lightning fast downhill run on your sled, but also by a magnificent panoramic vista of the Alps.

On the sled, ready, steady, go...

Before heading back down, you may want to take a break in the cozy Hörnlehütte lodge. When you are ready to descend, make sure to put on your hat, gloves, and scarf and zip up. Then off you go! Now it's all about steering your sled skillfully along the approximately 4.5 km (2.8 mi.) long, groomed toboggan run back down into the valley. Trees covered in powdery snow and winter meadows deep in snow adorn the path. The spectacular downhill ride takes about 15 minutes.

The sleds can be rented right at the bottom chairlift station. If you're looking for an even better rush, at the "Kratz" store, in Bad Kohlgrub, rent a racing sled and whiz even faster into the valley.

So leave the ski slopes for a day and learn what it's like to go sledding on the Hörnle. Rest assured - this fun and fast-paced winter day will be forever etched in your memory.
